WORLD BANKNOTES 360 – TURKEY Many of Turkey’s Finest Historical Banknotes |
The Republic
of Turkey’s monetary system has undergone several changes. It was originally based on the Kurush
(equal to 40 Para), and then on the Lira (100 Piastres). In 2005, the original Lira was replaced by
the New Lira equal to 100,000 Old Lira.
Another replacement occurred in 2009, when the New Lira was replaced
by the Lira. |
